Within the College of Health is the Institute of Food, Nutrition and Human Health (IFNHH). It is a leading provider of knowledge for food and health innovation in New Zealand.

Plant & Food Research collaborates with research organisations and industries worldwide to understand the intrinsic health properties of natural produce. Its research includes developing new foods that promote gut health, that assist in fitness and exercise recovery, that assist the body’s defence systems, that promote calmness or enhance mental performance and that aid in appetite control.
