Celebrating innovation in natural product science and technology

GMP Pharmaceuticals has been awarded the Cawthron Institute Innovation in Science & Technology Award.

The Science & Technology Award is for an organisation that promotes innovation within the natural products industry. It was awarded by Professor Charles Eason the Chief Executive of FoodHQ partner, the Cawthron Institute.

“This year’s winner is GMP Pharmaceuticals, a company that manufactures market ready complementary health products. Through their commitment to innovative products and processing, they have literally mobilised their quality assurance system. I congratulate them on their smart use of tech,” said Prof. Eason.

With the introduction of new “Black Box” and Consumer Friendly Traceability System technologies, GMP Pharmaceuticals keep their customers updated during the manufacturing process through their mobile devices.

Prof. Eason is interested in the wider applications and said, “This technology can be applied to other operations. Its important companies continue to apply this sort of future thinking.”

The Cawthron Institute Innovation in Science & Technology Award was announced at the New Zealand Natural Products Summit 2017 held in Nelson.
